Cultural Exchange Program

In order to provide the Cultural Exchange Program participants with the best experience possible, VolunteerTibet recommends the participants engage in some volunteer activities within the community. Examples of current positions available are listed here.

Volunteer Tibet strives for a meaningful and all-encompassing cultural interaction with students from all over the world. An interaction which not only satisfies the local Tibetan refugees as they share their culture, their stories and their lives with the visiting guests, but also enriches the program participant's experience, as you learn about a community which is doing all it can to preserve its people and culture, far from it's homeland. In engaging in volunteer activities, the student would not just be learning about the Tibetans and their culture, but would also be sharing with them their own personal experiences.

As a volunteer, you could work with the local Indian and Tibetan community in anything you are skilled at. For example, you could teach them your language, educate them in basic grammar, update them on environmental hazards and assist in cleaning up the local community area, educate them in the arts such as painting, dancing or playing a musical instrument, copy editing, proofreading or writing. Click here to see the current volunteer opportunities available.

An Culture Exchange Program volunteer would not just experience the rich culture of Tibet and simultaneously share their skills, but the volunteer would also help to connect exiled Tibetans and their cause with the rest of the world. Volunteering would complete the all encompassing and enriching experience of the Cultural Exchange Program. Everyone is welcome regardless of your skill-set!
